SEER FISH/ANJAL ROCE CURRY

Seer Fish/Anjal Roce curry is a heavenly delicious Mangalorean Fish curry made from coconut milk(roce) along with the perfect bits of spices and soft and juicy Seer Fish. To make this scrumptious dish, follow our recipe below.

Seer Fish/ Anjal Roce Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 kg Seer Fish
  • 1/2 kg Potatoes
  • 1 Coconut (Grated)
  • 2 Kumti long red chillies
  • 4 Harekal red short chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera/cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Small onion
  • 1/4 tsp Peppercorns
  • 1 Marble sized Tamarind
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • Salt (As per taste)

Instructions
 

  • Cut and clean the fish. Wash with salt and keep it aside.
  • For the masala, grind the chillies, jeera, turmeric powder, garlic, onion, tamarind, coriander seeds and 5 tbsp of grated coconut to a fine paste.
  • Remove the skin of the potatoes and cut into pieces. Boil the potatoes and keep it aside.
  • Keep a wok and add the masala. Add extracted coconut milk and give it a boil. Let the gravy be semi thick.
  • Add two sliced green chillies, vinegar and salt to taste.
  • Add the fish, when it starts boiling, add potatoes.
  • Serve hot with panpales, rice.
