Sheera is a delicious melt in the mouth sweet made with rava or suji (semolina).


  1. Ghee – 1/8 cup
  2. Semolina – ¼ cup
  3. Milk – ½ – ¾ cup
  4. Saffron – 4-5 threads
  5. Sugar – ¼ – ½ cup
  6. Yellow food colour – a pinch (optional)
  7. Almonds, cashew nuts or raisins for garnish


  1. Heat ghee in a vessel and roast semolina for sometime on low flame.
  2. Add in the milk and saffron and mix well, cover with a lid and cook for some time.
  3. Then, add in the sugar and mix well till it melts.
  4. Add in yellow food colour and mix well.
  5. Garnish with chopped almonds, cashew nuts or raisins.
