Peas Pulao

peas pulao recipeTake your usual bowl of rice to the next level with this peas pulao recipe by Chef Cheryl Lobo

  1. Basmati Rice – 1 cup
  2. Frozen or fresh green peas – 1 cup
  3. Water – 2 cups
  4. Onion – 1 big
  5. Ghee – 2 tbsp
  6. Bay leaves – 2
  7. Cinnamon sticks – 2
  8. Star Anise – 1
  9. Salt – ¾ tsp

  1. Wash the rice well and soak it in water.peas pulao recipe
  2. Slice the onion and keep aside.
  3. In a non-stick wok heat ghee. Add in the bay leaves, cinnamon sticks and star anise and fry for some time. peas pulao recipe
  4. Add in the onion and fry for some time. peas pulao recipe
  5. Then, add in the rice and green peas and fry well for around a minute. 
  6. Add in 2 cups of water and salt and mix well. peas pulao recipe
  7. Once it starts boiling, cover with a lid and cook for around 4 minutes on high flame.
  8. Then turn the flame to low and cook for around 4 minutes. peas pulao recipe
  9. Turn off the flame and give it a good mix. Close the lid and keep for around 10 minutes.
  10. Serve hot.
