CHICKEN ONION MASALA CURRY
Delicious and quick chicken curry recipe made with flavour-filled onion masala made by grinding aromatic spices with onions & chillies. This super easy recipe is all you need on a weekday to savour with chapatis/rotis.

Chicken Onion Masala Curry
Ingredients
- 1 Kg Chicken
- 4 Tbsp Ghee
- Coriander (for garnish)
- Salt (as per taste)
For the masala:
- 10 Long Kumta red chillies
- 3 Medium sized Onions
- 1 tsp Jeera
- 10 Peppercorns
- 1 tsp Coriander seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 8 Garlic cloves
- 1 inch Ginger
- 1 tsp Saunf/fennel seeds
- 1 Cardamom
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 1 Marble sized tamarind
Instructions
- Clean and cut the chicken into curry pieces.
- Grind the masala ingredients into a fine paste.
- Keep a vessel, add 2 tbsp ghee and fry one small onion till golden brown.
- Add the chicken and fry well. Sim the fire.
- Keep a pan, add 2 tbsp ghee, add the masala and fry well.
- Add the masala to the chicken and add one cup of masala water, salt to taste and cook the chicken well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with chapatis/ rotis/ sanna or neerdosa.
