CHICKEN ONION MASALA CURRY

Delicious and quick chicken curry recipe made with flavour-filled onion masala made by grinding aromatic spices with onions & chillies. This super easy recipe is all you need on a weekday to savour with chapatis/rotis.

Chicken Onion Masala Curry

Chicken curry made with grinding the basic onion masala along with chillies & other spices.

Servings 8 People

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Kg Chicken
  • 4 Tbsp Ghee
  • Coriander (for garnish)
  • Salt (as per taste)

For the masala:

  • 10 Long Kumta red chillies
  • 3 Medium sized Onions
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 10 Peppercorns
  • 1 tsp Coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 8 Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 tsp Saunf/fennel seeds
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 Marble sized tamarind

Instructions
 

  • Clean and cut the chicken into curry pieces.
  • Grind the masala ingredients into a fine paste.
  • Keep a vessel, add 2 tbsp ghee and fry one small onion till golden brown.
  • Add the chicken and fry well. Sim the fire.
  • Keep a pan, add 2 tbsp ghee, add the masala and fry well.
  • Add the masala to the chicken and add one cup of masala water, salt to taste and cook the chicken well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with chapatis/ rotis/ sanna or neerdosa.
