CHARMURI RECIPE
Charmuri, also called as Churumuri is a very famous and delicious snack made in a lip-smacking way in the Mangalore-Udupi region. This is not the ordinary bhel but has its own burst of spices with coconut oil aroma.
Going to the beachside and not having charmuri is just impossible for us Mangaloreans, isn’t it?
And due to the lockdown, we don’t seem to find people selling charmuri. So, to satisfy your charmuri/ churumuri craving, we have this tasty and super-easy charmuri recipe for you.
Grab the puffed rice and a bunch of readily available ingredients and let’s get started.
Charmuri
Ingredients
- 2 cups Puffed rice
- 1 Onion (Medium size, finely chopped)
- 3 tbsp Carrot (Grated)
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder (or as required)
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
Instructions
- Ingredients:
- In a mixing bowl, add in the chopped onion, grated carrot, coconut oil, lemon juice, red chilli powder and salt and mix well.
- Add in the puffed rice and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve immediately.
