Wash and slice the chicken horizontally into thin pieces.
Marinate with ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp pepper powder and juice of half a lime for 30 minutes.
Cut the sides of the bread slices and toast on low flame (do not brown) till they get hard. Cut them into smaller pieces and grind in the mixer to make bread crumbs.
Heat 2 tbsp oil and 2 tbsp butter. Dip each chicken piece in the maida, then in beaten egg and then coat well with bread crumbs.
Fry on both sides till cooked and golden brown. Keep aside.
In the same pan (add more oil if required), add finely chopped garlic and fry for around 20 seconds.
Add in the chopped onions and fry till translucent.
Turn the flame low and add in 1 tbsp butter, ½ tsp pepper powder, salt to taste and juice of half a lime. Mix well and cook for around 20 seconds.
Add this over the fried chicken pieces and serve hot.
