Silverfish Curry Mangalorean Style Recipe
Silverfish is also called as Yerlio/ Erli, Bolanjir in the coastal region, Mangalore.
Masala
- 8 Kumti red long chillies
- 2 Short chillies
- 1 Small onion
- 1/4 tsp Jeera/cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp Haldi/Turmeric powder
- 3 cloves garlic
- 8 Pepper corns
- 1 Marble sized Tamarind
- 5 tbsp Grated coconut
Cut and clean the fish.
Grind the ingredients for the masala into a fine paste.
Keep a vessel, add 2 tbsp coconut oil and add crushed 4 cloves of garlic and fry till golden brown.
Add the ground masala and fry well.
Add 2 cups masala water. Bring it to a good boil.
Add salt to taste.
You can add bimblis if you want.
Add the fish, give a boil for 2 minutes.
Serve hot with rice or neerdosas/panpales.
