Jackfruit Fritters Recipe
Mangaloreans love the Mangalorean Jackfruit dishes like Jackfruit Patholi and Jackfruit fritters/ gariyo. So here we have a very special seasonal recipe for you all- Gariyo/ Jackfruit Fritters recipe.

- 2 Cup Boiled Rice
- 1 Cup Par boiled (Idli) rice
- 8 tbsp Jaggery powder
- 1 Soup Bowl Jackfruit pieces ( 20 whole jackfruit after removing the seeds)
- 7 tbsp Grated coconut
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 Litre Coconut oil
- 2 tbsp Rice flour (optional)
Soak the rice for 6-8 hours.
Grind the jackfruit pieces, add rice, 1/2 tsp salt and grind. Add jaggery and again grind well. (Do not add water when grinding)
Add grated coconut and mix well. (You can even grind it along with the batter)
If the batter is not little thick, add rice flour.
Heat the coconut oil, pour little batter in hand. Fry till golden grown on a medium flame.
Serve the gariyos/ jackfruit fritters with tea or coffee.
